About
Jeffrey A Williams, MA, LPC, NCC
I graduated from Liberty University with a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling, becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. I have provided therapy for adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families with a variety of mental health concerns including trauma, personality disorders, anger, anxiety, and depression. I have also conducted individual and group therapy to treat adults and adolescents with substance use concerns.
After retiring from the Air Force as an equal opportunity adviser/counselor, I wanted to continue assisting others with creating solutions to life’s challenges. I founded Inspire Counseling and Consulting Services on the belief that the therapeutic relationship is essential to the counseling process, because creating a partnership of trust is the most effective way to achieve growth. My goal is to establish a positive therapeutic relationship that promotes healing and builds resiliency, helping you to grow from challenges so you can improve your everyday life.
As for what you can expect during a session, though much my style is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, however my approach varies with the needs of each client. I work from the understanding that each person is unique so their therapy should reflect that. Your treatment will follow the basic principles that therapy must be ever evolving, is based on the needs of the individual, and must be grounded in an authentic therapeutic relationship that emphasizes collaboration. Sessions are structured and goal oriented, assisting you with identifying, evaluating, and responding to negative thoughts and situations. By following these principles, therapy often leads to a significant reduction in feelings of distress, creates greater personal awareness and insight, and increases skills for managing life’s challenges.
